The Mysterious Tragic Hero

In the novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the protagonist, Jay Gatsby, is a rich piece whose true sides are revealed as the curb unfolds. In the beginning of the novel, Gatsbys image is one of a major(ip) renown who enjoys throwing parties. As the parole develops, Gatsby is met for the first time, and information somewhat him and his downplay is revealed. Finally as the book comes to an end, Gatsby true character is amply exposed. Gatsbys secrets are ultimately unveiled passim the book and his reputation changes from a wealthy and famed upperclassman, to a deplorable man who has nonhing left to live for. At the scraping of the novel, the main character Gatsby is seen as a famous soul of the upper class, who loves to throw parties every weekend. Gatsby is very dismal because he always remains out of sight at his parties, and is not actually met until a few chapters into the book. As the book progresses, Gatsby is finally met and information is re vealed about his background. Gatsby shows his thickness again when he answers privy phone calls, and also the incident that he keeps his work behavior secret. A side other then Gatsbys hugger-mugger side is seen when he is around Daisy. When he first encounters her, he is nervous and runs away. But there was a change in Gatsby that was simply confounding. He literally glowed; without a word or a gesture of exultation a new clear radiated from him and filled the little room (89). This quote shows that eventually however, Gatsby finds a comfort zone and acts calm and naive around Daisy, foment a childlike side of Gatsby. Gatsbys loyalty and involvement to Daisy shows another characteristic of Gatsby and his determination to achieve his goals. It is also revealed that Gatsby, as a child, had a list of things that he wanted to improve, and the particular that his father said that he always was a voiceless worker, proves his determination.
