'ââ¬Å"Freak.ââ¬Â And ââ¬Å"Monsterââ¬Â were the name calling I comprehend sidereal day in and day expose for the last four years. Thats why, when I got approached by The Mavericks I thought things were looking up for me. small(a) did I neck, things were about to go whirling out of control.\r\nIt was a piercingly cold day, my hands were raw, I was doing my usual paper round, re penising of giving it up, in hope of bed-ridden mornings and no more bags under my eyes. Id wedded my last paper to a elderly muliebrity leaving her house to check the milkman had been. He hadnt. He had forbearped coming years ago and and then I headed grit to the Newfield Newsagent and collected my pay. twenty dollar bill pound is what I got paid for amazeting up at six in the morning, every morning. I made my right smart across the snow cover field, my feet making firm, strong c give outching noisesââ¬Â¦ But wait, why could I hear four footsteps instead of two? I twirled around,\r\nSMA CK.\r\nA strong handed punch odd me breathless, and knocked me on my back.\r\nââ¬Å"Whââ¬Â¦ what?ââ¬Â I asked, breathlessly.\r\nI opened my eyes. Jesus, my glass had snapped, another reason for my dad to call me hundreds of names.\r\nââ¬Å" run ME YOUR MONEY!ââ¬Â a gruff voice called out,\r\nââ¬Å"who.. who atomic number 18 you?ââ¬Â my usually low voice turned into a whimper, as I attempted to sound strong. A defence technique I learned, living with my unspiritual father for so long. I cursed myself for appear fearful. I didnt involve another chance to hold of another comeback. A rapid, sharp blow fritter my straight in the face again.\r\nA rip sound.\r\nLighter pockets.\r\nCrunching noises.\r\nThen inexorable.\r\nI heard a voice.\r\nââ¬Å"Uh dude? You going to be ok?\r\nI opened my eyes, slowly and tried to sit up.\r\nMy all in all body ached. There was blood on my white-hot t-shirt.\r\nââ¬Å"You.. You look pretty bad there.ââ¬Â\r\nââ¬Å"Aw SHUT UP J onny! Way to make him feel better!ââ¬Â\r\nWho were these quite a little? I didnt recognize there voices.\r\nââ¬Å"Where am i?ââ¬Â I managed to whisper.\r\nââ¬Å"You dont pick out to know. All you need to know is that, we found you on a field, covered in blood and brought you here. Were the Mavericks.ââ¬Â\r\nThe Mavericks? Not the gang, The Mavericks surely? I looked around, everything was black, and a few cardboard boxes lay around, empty cans of Fosters, tail end boxes and a pool table.\r\nI couldnt very be with The Mavericks could I?\r\nI looked up, three tall men stood before me.\r\nThey were all wearing black suits and black hats.\r\nI was with the Mavericks.\r\nââ¬Å"I need to go, I needââ¬Â¦Ã¢â¬Â I stopped mid sentence as I saw a gun world pulled from Tall Man number two, coat jacket.\r\nââ¬Å"Youll encumbrance right there. Since we saved your life, we can end it too. I think you owe us a spare dont you?ââ¬Â\r\nI gulped. I tried to slow my flashbul b take in, afraid that they would hear it.\r\nââ¬Å"Just.. Just permit me go. Ill do anything.ââ¬Â I whimpered.\r\nWhen I said Id do anything, I didnt think that they would ask me to do what they did nextââ¬Â¦\r\nââ¬Å" in that respect HE IS! RUN!ââ¬Â Joe screamed,\r\nI ran, I dangle, I got up and ran again.\r\nThey wouldnt allow me stop; they will eat me if I gave up on them, if I plunk for down.\r\nWe were trying to catch Freddys dad, a multi-millionaire jewel extraordinaire. Freddy, the newest member of The Mavericks was travel rapidly ahead of me, I felt perturbing for him. He didnt want to be in this aim was much as I didnt. Joe said that if he didnt cooperate on this mission he would bulge both his mother and father, and then come back for him. So here we were. three months down the literary argument from them finding me on field, bleeding and shaking in my converse. They were using me I knew that, and as before long as the police came, it would be mine a nd Freddys name that would be read out in court. My voice that would aver not guilty to any crime Joe had pull weeks before. I was just a matter of time. Freddy tripped and fell down. I stopped and helped him back up again. I could see tears roll down his cheeks.\r\nââ¬Å"Dont let them see you. Quick, lets go!ââ¬Â I whispered hurriedly.\r\nWe started to run again.\r\nWhere were we? I couldnt tell. It was too dark to see anything.\r\nThe all thing I knew was that we appeared to be in a wasteland.\r\nThe smell filled my nozzle as soon as I got there, I covered my nose with my scarf and carried on running, still aware the foetor was seeping through it.\r\nââ¬Å"HES HEADING TOWARD THE LORRIES! DONT LET HIM turn on!ââ¬Â I ran harder and faster, overtaking Freddy. I saw a shadow crawl under the lorry and I slowed to a stop, just in time for Freddy to stop behind me.\r\nââ¬Å"Where is he?ââ¬Â Freddy whispered.\r\nââ¬Å"Under the lorry, but be quick. I dont think anybodys seen him yet.ââ¬Â I replied.\r\nFreddy ran and slid under the lorry, I heard a crash.\r\nLike metal contact a skull.\r\nId heard it before, when Joe had make me kill a poor innocent man because Joe didnt like the way he looked at him.\r\nI hoped Freddy was ok, I really dd.\r\nI sprinted to escape from the wasteland, maybe I could get away now?\r\nNo-one was around, I saw a entrance to a huge warehouse, maybe I could make it? One look behind me pushed my doubts away.\r\nI rushed toward the door, just before I managed to let out a sigh of relief.\r\nA effectual hand clamped down on my shoulder.\r\nââ¬Å"I dont think so Jonathon. You know the rules. Now youll pay.ââ¬Â\r\nA strangle laugh, a shout.\r\nââ¬Å"HES HERE!ââ¬Â\r\nthe hand that was tightly clamped down on my shoulder, let go.\r\nI was going to get it now, I really was.\r\nThen I heard heavy footsteps, not running toward me, but running away from me. This was it? They were letting me go?\r\nââ¬Å"JONATHAN, HERE. NOW!ââ¬Â I heard Joe scream.\r\nBut I was already running.\r\nAnd running.\r\n absent from the violence and the crime.\r\nRunning away.\r\nI was finished with the Mavericks,\r\nAnd I never looked back.\r\n'
