Upcoming Dates and Deadlines for SAT Calendar

The SAT is one of the most important and popular standardized tests for college aspirants. The numbers of college bound students who take the test has increased over the last five years. There are about 1.7 million students taking the test this year alone. The all-important test has made its appearance in a new and revised avatar. While it has brought along with it interesting challenges, it has also made things more exciting for test takers. But it has also made choosing the right test date for taking your SAT more crucial. Making your date with the SAT: †¢ First things first, in a bid to boost your SAT score you can take the test as many times as you want. In fact colleges often allow you to choose Score Choice. But the fact remains that the test is conducted only 7 times in a year. †¢ It is commonly seen that most juniors end up taking their first SAT during the months of March or May. Others wait till the fall of the senior year. If you want to apply for selective colleges and universities, you might want to opt for SAT Subject test. †¢ You will find that there are certain colleges that require you to take two or three SAT Subject tests. Hence choosing your test date becomes crucial. It’s advisable to take the test in October, November and perhaps a couple of dates in the spring. †¢ Unfortunately it’s difficult to take two SATs in a row as the late registration date has passed before the scores come out. Another thing to note is that SAT tests are clustered in the Fall while they are more spread out in Spring. Upcoming dates and deadlines for SAT: SAT will be conducted on 4th of June. You can register for it via mail till May 5th and by phone, online till May 11th. Late registration dates are May 20th by mail and May 25th by phone and online. The last date for making any changes is also May 25th. World History, German, Modern Hebrew, Italian and Latin will be the other subject tests held on the day besides the subject tests that are also being on conducted on May 7th.
